PS4 Finally Released in the US!
Hello everyone! The PlayStation 4 Console was finally released today and so far all but great reviews have been given. The battle has begun for the PS4 and Xbox One with both gaming consoles competing to become your sole source for movies, music, TV and gaming. After a day one patch, the PlayStation 4 will be begging for you to pack it to the max with streaming media apps and any of its twenty-two launch titles, which range from mega-budget AAA titles to download-only indie titles.
At $400/£349, the PS4 is $100 cheaper than the $500/£429 Xbox One. But be aware that for that extra $100 the Xbox One is packaged with the new Kinect, so you are getting something extra for that hundred-dollar price difference. The PlayStation Camera is sadly sold separately for $59.99/£54.99. I myself would prefer to have both gaming consoles in my living room but I doubt that will happen :D
An interesting claim that Sony added was that the PS4's overall performance is ten times that of the PS3. In an official FAQ, Sony also stated that the PS4's hard drive can be easily removed with a little tinkering, and can be replaced with a larger drive if wanted, or a solid-state drive for better performance. Sony says these do it yourself upgrades will not void the system's warranty which is great.
The performance specs remain the same. It has a custom single-chip processor that combines an eight core x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" CPU with a 1.84 teraflop GPU based on AMD's Radeon technology. It's backed by 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, and a 500GB mechanical hard drive. Neat and powerful specs as expected from Sony.
I am sad to say that I don't have the PS4 console myself yet (._.) But, I am looking forward to purchasing it by the end of this month! The remaining 14 days will be harsh but I know that I will survive \(~o~)/
Tell us have you got the PS4 console yourself? And what was your reaction to it? Leave your comments below!
