PS4´s Play as you Download and Game Sharing

Awesome news have recently come up regarding the PS4´s ability to play games as you download, which allows gamers to start playing a gaming even when only a portion of the game has been downloaded. Now you can invest hours into actually playing the game itself instead of wasting them on the download. This is what Mark Cerny at the Sony PlayStation Develop, as well as Neil Brown, R&D Senior Team Leader at SCEE, revealed:
You can visit your friend’s house, you can log into your account and play any game from your digital library, which is good. But how useful is that if it takes half a day to download the game you want to play? With Play As You Download, you get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker. So this makes a digital library a practical option in the real world.
While that is definitely good news, Neil then talked about background installs on retail games, which eliminates the majority of the wait when starting up a physical game you just bought:
A similar system also works on Blu-ray, chunks are automatically copied to the hard drive in the background. This means that after the first few minutes your game can rely on having faster read speeds from the hard drive. Which provides a better experience for players, and this is a completely background process for the player. They don’t have to wait for anything to install before playing the game. The game will launch as soon as the disk has been put in the drive.
Now digital games on PS4 will work in a similar fashion to the PS3 when going to a friend’s house, but with the added benefit of being able to play as you download. This feature has intrigued all the PS4´s gamers and enthusiast out there of coarse. I wonder if Microsoft will compete with Sony and announce a similar feature? I definitely wouldn't be surprised if that announcement came up since lately Microsoft has showed signs of improving the console even more than they initially announced on E3 on an effort to surpass Sony´s PS4.
What is the longest you’ve had to wait for a PS3 game to install and what did you do to pass the time? Leave your comment below!

LG presents the world´s slimmest 1080p LCD smartphone screen

LG's becomes the first company to introduce a 5.2-inch LCD panel that is just a mere 2.2mm thick, while its bezel measures just 2.3mm and will lead the way for lighter phones with larger visible displays.
Unveiled in Seoul by the company's LG Display arm, the panel also boasts higher contrast and brightness levels, plus quicker touch-response times than existing LCD screens due to a new manufacturing process the company has developed called "Advanced One Glass Solution," it uses dual printed circuits and a special clear resin for bonding the display panel and the touch film together.

At the launch, Dr. Byeong-Koo Kim, Vice President and Head of LG Display's IT and Mobile Development Group said: "Today's introduction of the world's slimmest Full HD LCD panel represents an exciting advancement for the high-end smartphone segment, and is possible due to our world-class expertise in IPS and touch technologies," and went on to emphasize that the record-breaking screen should be seen by consumers as a commitment to innovation and to bringing added customer value to its products and those of its competitors as LG, like Samsung, builds displays for a number of consumer electronics companies. However, he made no comment about when this technology would be ready to be incorporated into phones, tablets or touch-sensitive notebooks. LG is launching the new Optimus G2 and has been rumored to have a 5.2-inch screen, so perhaps this could be it.
But LG didn't go to all of this trouble just to break a record or claim a world first. As consumers turn increasingly to mobile devices for multimedia content such as films and video clips and gaming, screens need to be bigger and brighter and be able to work just as well indoors and outdoors. And because the panels are so slim, this extra display performance will not mean extra weight or bulk in a user's pocket or bag. Reducing the screen bezel to just 2.3mm means that a smartphone need only be a few millimeters wider and longer than its display.
What is your opinion on this new slim LCD screen? Will it have an affect on your purchase the next time you decide to buy a smartphone?
